Here you will find all the information and requirements related to your participation in the Petzl Rope Trip:

STEP 1: Check out all the requirements you need in order to participate
STEP 2: Fill out your registration form, after that you will receive an email with all the information you need to send
STEP 3: Send your payment and the documents by email in order o complete your registration

The event is open to anyone over 18 years of age, provided that it is a recognized and certified rope specialist, or that it has been trained in access with ropes and who is in a physical condition that allows him to work with ropes.
Each participant must demonstrate that they meet the conditions of access and aptitude by providing:

  •  A copy of an identification (ID card, passport, etc.)
  •  A copy of their rope specialist certificate, or rope access worker training certificate (CURRENT) issued by a recognized institution such as IRATA, SPRAT, ANETVA, FISAT, ARAA, among others.
    • In the situation that the participant does not have a certificate or is not in valid, he must complete a skill test called “Skill Test” on the day of registration, which will consist of a circuit of maneuvers of Level 1 (ascent, descent, passage of knots , transfer in ropes, deviations, rescue in ascent mode). In case of not passing the skill test the ORGANIZING COMMITTEE could reject the participation of the technician in the event and the team can replace it.
    • In case the technician does not pass the SKILL TEST and does not have a replacement, the participation of the team will not be allowed, which will not obtain any type of refund.

The participant must complete the Medical Declaration to participate in the event and may be subject to a medical examination prior to the event.

Entries sent without any of the aforementioned documents will be rejected. All documentation must be sent to ropetrip@altavertical.com

All registrations must be made in teams of 3 members.

In the case of incorrect, non-compliant or false declarations, the Organizer reserves the right to refuse registration.

All entries must be submitted before September 5th, 2019.

Once your registration is received, we will send you the confirmation with the list of documentation of each of the members of your team that you must send us to complete your registration:

  • A copy of a piece of identification (ID card, passport, etc.)
  • A copy of your rope technician certificate, or a worker access certificate by rope or its equivalent (CURRENT) issued by a recognized institution such as IRATA, SPRAT, ANETVA, FISAT, ARAA, among others .
  • Medical Statement duly completed.

The cost of participation in the Petzl RopeTrip Series Latin America Mexico 2019 is 5,800.00 MXN Mexican pesos (TAX INCLUDED) or 290.00 USD dollars (TAX INCLUDED) . The registration fee is by team of three.

For Foreigners:

Payment will be made via Paypal, for this the user must have an active account in Paypal. Once your complete registration has been sent, we will send you a Payment Request via email with which you can make your payment.

Any cancellation must be made no later than September 1, 2019, in case of not making yourcancellation on that date we will not be able to make any refund.

The simple fact of registering for the Petzl RopeTrip Series Latin America Mexico 2019 implies the unlimited acceptance of the rules in this document (hereinafter “The Rules”). The Rules are contained in this document, completed and / or modified by any appendix that the Organizing Committee may, if necessary, add without incurring any liability and without claiming damages on behalf of the participants.

All participants must be present in the Petzl RopeTrip Series Latin America Mexico 2019 compulsory with the following equipment in good condition and ready for inspection before its use is allowed:

  • 1 full body harness with suspension, fall arrest and of work positioning points, suitable for rope access jobs. It can be a combination of waist harness and chest harness components that complies with CE EN 361, CE EN 358, CE EN 813, CE EN 12841 type B or equivalent.
  • 1 self-braking descender (EN 12841 type C or equivalent) with its automatic locking carabiner (EN 362)
  • 2 rope clamps (EN 12841 type B or equivalent): 1 ventral (Ej.croll) and 1 hand block (eg Ascender /BASIC).
  • 1 Etrier, can be commercial or done with coordination, simple or of several steps.
  • 1 ASAP or ASAP Lock fall arrester with its energy absorber, Absorbica, ASAP Sorber Axess or Asap Sorber (for maneuvers requiring two fall arrest systems the organizing committee or a team member will provide the second).
  • 1 double lanyard with its two carabiners (EN 362). The cow’s tails made of dynamic rope of at least 10mm will be accepted under inspection and traceability of the rope.
  • 1 helmet that complies with CE EN 12492 *, UIAA, ANSI Z89.1-2009 type I class C, EAC or equivalent.
  • 6 carabiners with automatic or screw closure that comply with standard EN 12275 and / or EN 362

**All carabiners of the ASAP must be Automathic.

Additionally the participant may bring the following equipment, in good condition and ready for inspection before its use is allowed:

  • 1 single pulley or Roll Clip
  • 1 pantin right or left
  • 6 carabiners with automatic or screw closure that comply with EN 12275 and / or EN362
  • Gloves
  • Visual Protection

Any participant that is not in possession of all the equipment mentioned above or that any piece of equipment does not After the inspection, you can acquire a new product (subject to availability). In case it is not possible to replace it, the team will not be able to compete under any circumstance. No refund of registration fees will be issued.

In the challenges where specific equipment is required, the Organizing Committee will make it available to the participants.

Regulation Petzl RopeTrip Series Latinoamérica México 2019

Each participant is required to ensure that each piece of his equipment complies with current standards and is free of any defect is in perfect working order and has not been subject to any type or form of modification. The jury reserves the express right to deny access to any participant to any challenge if it considers the equipment to be inappropriate. Each participant must use the equipment in accordance with recognized practices and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Each participant is solely responsible for the condition and use of their equipment.

The Organizing Committee can not under any circumstances be held responsible for damages to persons and / or facilities caused by any equipment used by the participants.
